Update 5/9 —
Managing a project that has grown to this scale takes an army of dedicated volunteers. Because of my *very* busy work schedule right now, team members have stepped up to help manage this project in significant ways, and I wanted to name a few more folks helping in this area. Jared Hasen-Klein and Joy Uehara are FIRST robotics mentors (and alumni) who have been working tirelessly to get our project website and outreach into the most functional (and best-looking) shape ever! (Head on over to https://socalcovidresponse.com/ to see some of the latest features). Eileen Kahn has been expanding our reach to media and potential corporate supporters, as well as our robotics team network of volunteers. Evan Smith (colleague and FIRST robotics mentor) has recently been one of our largest producers of face shields and straps, running 5 printers at a time in his home nonstop. Thanks to all of you for your recent efforts!
More great photos of our face shield recipients over the past few days! GoFundMe only allows me to post 3 at a time, so the cross-posts on Facebook as well as our new Instagram feed will be continuously updated with all these photos!
Finally, tonight I’d like to share some of the fantastic press this project has gotten over the past couple weeks, including coverage by the Orange County Register, Daily Breeze, Poly Post, Santa Clarity Valley Signal, and Long Beach Grunion. All of our press has been documented here for you to explore: https://socalcovidresponse.com/press/
