The list of supporters keeps growing, and we now have ~30 printers involved pumping out in excess of 150 shield visors EVERY day! We are starting to become more organized, setting up logistics to get the purchased material out to printers, and get the product back to a core team of volunteers who will take point on delivering to the hospitals.
Our first hospital delivery was today — I met the Emergency Medicine (ER) doctor and Assistant Director of Mission Hospital to deliver the first batch of 100 face shields, and he was overly excited to receive them. His feedback was that the face shields are the MOST CRITICAL piece of PPE the hospital needs right now, more than masks. These shields will be worn by the entire hospital staff to help ensure they do not touch their own face or get particles/droplets containing CV on their face, to help protect them from getting sick.
Photos of this particular delivery to come, but we are already prepared for our second batch of 100 shields to this hospital on Saturday, followed quickly by deliveries to several other area hospitals in need.
