If you’ve got the time and willingness to help, we can find a use for your talents!

It costs less than a dollar to make one of our protective face shields—so every contribution truly can save lives!

Please note that while we currently specialize in protective face shields for healthcare workers, we have the production capabilities to create many different types of PPE. If you or an organization you partner with are in need of protective equipment other than face shields, please let us know and we will do what we can to find a solution!

We are a group of over 100 volunteers from around Los Angeles and Orange County, largely comprised of High School FIRST Robotics teams, engineers, and makers. We have joined forces to 3-D print and assemble free face shields and mask extenders for hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical facilities across the United States. We began our efforts in Southern California and quickly grew to meet the demands across the US and Ghana. We have printed and distributed almost 10,000 face shields and 1,800 mask extenders to date and are planning on creating an additional 900 per week. We have provided the PPE to over 95 hospitals and community health organizations, and we will continue to expand our efforts as long as people and organizations continue to support us!

See the Impact

Many thanks to the team at SoCal Makers for dedicating their time and talent into developing, producing and delivering face shields and mask extenders to the healthcare providers at Cedars-Sinai. I personally delivered them to the units; watching the nurses’ faces light up when they heard the equipment was made for them by a talented group of high school robotics students, their mentors and families. Fostering creativity and problem-solving skills empowers our youth to take an active role in solving this pandemic that affects us all.

We really appreciate all you did to support our Elderly Homes… Rest assured that those masks are going to places where elderly lives will be saved because of them.

On behalf of Centinela Hospital Medical Center, we wanted to thank you and your amazing students for making us the mask extenders for our staff. We have given every last one out to staff who are so grateful for the crafty, neat and easy to use mask extenders. You and your students are saving a lot of faces and ears from the discomfort we are all experiencing wearing the masks to help with the fight against COVID19. Our front line nurses especially appreciate your generosity, thoughtfulness and ingenuity.
